Brighten Up Your Winter
Mixing some color into your winter wardrobe may simply just make your feel better, so why not? Of course as with anything – there are always a few rules, but having a fun and colorful winter may be easier than you expected.
Blue will always work great. It’s fun, easy to match and who doesn’t love a royal blue. You can use it as a solid top or a simple pant as well – blue’s greatest quality is its easy “matchability” and it is an easy way to add a splash of color to all your “go-to” black clothing. There are many places to buy “cheap” colored pants but if your looking for something of higher quality with a reasonable price, check out Gap.
Accent some darker yellow into your reds and you have a fun/ bright winter ahead of you. If you are looking for something a little less bright, find a darker red or plum. Mix these “redish” tones with gold and more of a glossy lipstick and you are set to make a statement. I recommend Clinique Long Last Glosswear, available at many places such as Bloomingdales, Macy’s and Sephora.
A dark green also looks great with gold tones. This makes it easy to accessorize multiple outfits, ones of which we discusses above, with the same
gold – without having to spend too much money on accessories that only work for specific outfits. Versatility is key. Check out Forever21 for some easy-to-wear accessories.
Having a variety of simple but solid colored tops is a fabulous way to make a few articles of clothing into many different and fun outfits. Focus on versatility and don’t be scared to mix and match!
