As New York Fashion Week closed up last Friday, Fashion’s elite were hit with a barrage of nineties, sportswear, and crop top trends; which, now that we think about it, is a pretty redundant list. It is obvious 90s Posh Spice still reigns supreme in her influence. As we transition into London Fashion Week let us take a moment to reflect on which designers really brought it-90’s, or otherwise, in Fantaschic’s top 5 shows this week.
Zac Posen predictably dropped jaws with a fluid, voluminous, feminine collection of gowns and dresses. Intricate pleat work, soft hues, and flattering silhouettes were the cornerstones of this collection.
The Blonds invaded New York Fashion Week with an intimidating re-imagination of your classic Barbarella-Meets-Spock character. Take us to your leader, ladies, we go willingly.
Prozen Schuler presented clean, well-cut lines, in blacks and whites. Powerful sillouettes with hints of metallic tones peppered this collection.
Michael Kors held a classic society safari soiree. Blue tones (think slate, sky, and dark denim) paired with python, jungle green, and khaki. It was clean, classic, and, as always, impeccably tailored. Mr. Kors truly understands the female form.
